Biobanks are collection of biological material (blood, DNA, tissue, biobsy specimens, etc) and the associated data and information stored in an organised system. By combining and comparing biological tissue samples with patient information, researchers will be able to investigate the fundamental mechanisms of diseases. New insights into molecular and genetic processes will lead to better techniques for predicting who may be susceptible to particular illnesses, as well as to more targeted and innovative ways to prevent and treat many diseases.
Biobanks form the base for networks in which enterprises, research, development facilities and other competence centers cooperate. Optimization and coordination of the research leads to a faster knowledge transfer of the research to he practice and back.
Networks have established themselves as one of the most important instruments of the economic policy tuned over.
Enclosed you find an example how to collect data and material.
